ADVISORY/COUNSELOR

Each student will be assigned and meet monthly with a staff member who serves as an academic advisor/counselor. Your advisor will review your transcripts and guide you in course selection and credit status as well as help you with your personal and future goals. One unit of credit may be earned per quarter for attending all scheduled advisory sessions.

COUNSELING

Counselors will be on campus to provide individual and group counseling in dealing with personal issues, alcohol, and tobacco or drug use. Part of our advisory program includes a voluntary Wednesday Teen Wellness Class. Class is from 12:30-1:30. One credit may be earned for every 10 sessions attended.

OUTSIDE WORK EXPERIENCE

All students employed under the age of 18 are required to have a work permit. The school issues work permits. Students who obtain a job and have a work permit are encouraged to enroll in our ROP program. Up to 10 credits per quarter can be earned for work experience (permitted a student turns in time cards or pay stubs) and participates in classroom assignments and discussions.

VOLUNTEER WORK and INTERNSHIPS

Students are encouraged to serve their community. Students may earn credits at the ratio of one credit per 15 hours of volunteer or internship experience. The work must be approved by the school for the student to receive credit.
