DRUGS and ALCOHOL
Students manifesting behaviors of drug or alcohol abuse will be confronted
and a parent/student conference held, followed by a school suspension.
If the student fails to improve his/her behavior, the student may be
required to be assessed at a drug rehabilitation center or other certified
facility.
Students found in possession of or under the influence of drugs or alcohol on
campus or at any school sponsored event will be cited or arrested and either
suspended or recommended for expulsion, depending on prior history.
Students caught selling or distributing any illegal substance will be recommended
for expulsion regardless of prior history. Students found in possession of drug
paraphernalia will be suspended from school.
CLASSROOM RULES
Students will be removed from class and sent to the office for violation of
the following classroom rules:
1. No swearing in the classrooms.
2. No hats can be worn indoors.
3. No sunglasses can be worn indoors.
4. Students must respect and follow the direction of the teacher.
5. Students must be inside the classroom when class is scheduled to begin,
or they will lose credit for that period if they enter the classroom late.
The teacher may decide to send the tardy student to the office for the remainder
of that period. Time spent in the office is spent in silence; it is not a social
hour. Failure to report to the office when sent out of class is defiance of
authority, which is a suspendable offense.
